Retiring in Florida
Hundreds of thousands of Canadians, Brits, and Northern US residents decide to retire in the southern US. Most will choose the sunshine states of Texas, Arizona, California, South Carolina and Florida to buy their retirement condo. Since the recession hit several years ago, a glut of homes and condos have come onto the market. What area should you investigate as a suitable spot for you? It depends on your price range on on the services and amenities you need. The Sarasota area is very popular. Its weather some of the nicest in Florida and hurricanes never seem to hit the area. The Tampa/St Petes/Sarasota region has been the choice to buy vacation properties for many snowbirds for decades. There are plenty of services including medical services, shopping, entertainment, and the neighbourhoods are quiet and relatively crime free. In winters, the weather is very pleasant, yet in summer the temperature routinely soar into the 90's. If high temperatures and humidity make you uncomfortable, you may want to search up the coast to the northeast area of Florida or the northwestern panhandle region. If heat and humidity aren't a big problem for you, the southern area including Miami, Naples, Homestead, Key Largo, and Fort Lauderdale regions might interest. If you love the big city, then Miami might be the right place. If you're ready to move to Florida and place your Mississauga home or Toronto home for sale, why not list with SELLMISSISSAUGA? Our reach and hard work is why we're the right Missisauga real estate agents for you.

Latest News: South Florida Home Sales Up
Although the US Federal Tax Credit didn't apply to Canadians buying homes and condos in Florida, our appetite for Florida Real Estate hasn't abated. Sales numbers for the post tax credit perido indicate an almost 16% decrease in sale nationally, and a year-over-year, pending sales plunged 30 percent. This is despite record low mortgage rates. Realtors are noting that foreigners are holding up the Florida home sale market. And for good reason. With prices at rock bottom levels, this is the ideal time to buy Florida Real Estate. In Miami Dade County, average condo prices were only $125,000 while homes averaged $196,700. It stands to reason that many of these properties will become rental properties.

Property Wire Optimistic About Florida Housing Market
According to a report by Property Wire, Florida is set to be one of the bargain hotspots of 2010 for real estate investors with some properties selling for as little as $47 a square foot, according to a new report. " All this means that there has seldom been a better time to get into the Florida property market. According to most local experts, prices have nowhere to go but up and a home in Florida bought at today’s bargain prices should prove to be a laudable investment five years from now" said Charles Peerless, director of Winkworth International.
